Who we are
This is an independent, unofficial study website. It is not run by or connected to any exam authority. This page describes what personal data the website processes and why. It is information, not legal advice.
What stays in your browser
Practice progress, quiz answers and mock-exam answers are stored only in the local storage of your own browser. The site never sends them to a server, and we never see them. You can remove them at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.
Server access logs
The server that hosts this site keeps standard access logs for a limited period. A log entry records things like the time of a request, the page requested, the amount of data transferred, the browser used and the IP address. We use logs to operate the site and to detect technical problems and misuse. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure website.
Microsoft Clarity
We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how the site is used, for example which pages are read and where readers stop. Clarity sets cookies and records how pages are used, such as mouse movements, scrolling and clicks. The data is processed by Microsoft Corporation under its privacy statement:
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in improving the website. You can prevent Clarity processing by blocking cookies or third-party scripts for this site, or by using your browser's privacy settings.
Advertising and Google AdSense
This site displays advertising delivered by Google AdSense. Before ads are shown, visitors from the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom see a consent message from Google. Depending on the choice made there, Google may serve personalised ads (ads based on interests inferred from previous visits) or non-personalised ads.
Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to measure and improve ads, and may process data such as your IP address, cookie identifiers and the pages viewed. Google acts as an independent controller for this processing. How Google uses data on websites like this one is described by Google:
How Google uses data when you use our partners' sites or apps
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the link in the footer of the Google consent message on this site.
Webmaster tools
We use Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools to check how the site appears in search results. These tools process information about the website itself, such as indexing status and search queries. They are operator tools and do not track you while you use this site.
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR and the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify or erase your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office in the UK or to your national data protection authority:
Information Commissioner's Office
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address at the bottom of this page.
How long data is kept
Access logs are kept for a limited period and are then deleted. Clarity keeps its data according to Microsoft's retention rules. Data in your browser stays until you clear it. We keep no other personal data.
Links to other websites
The site links to official sources such as GOV.UK. Those websites are run by others and have their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for their content or their data practices.
Changes to this page
We update this page when the site changes. The date above shows the current version.
